Attempts At Becoming An iPhonetographer

A few weeks ago I talked about finding my Instagram style, and I was pretty stuck on which one was the most “me”. Am I bright and colorful? Am I warm and earthy? Am I crisp and clean? I’m honestly still unsure of which one I want to stick with, but this week I’m experimenting with clean, white backgrounds and pops of color. Word of advice: a white foam board is SO HELPFUL if you’re going for this style. Desks are way too inconvenient. So anyway, here are some of the pictures I ended up with!

Have you ever played around with your Instagram style? What style do you think you have right now, if you’re trying to have one?

I’m sort of OK with not having an Instagram style right now because Instagram isn’t my platform of choice. I love having an Instagram but I definitely am not as stylized as some of my peers who do an amazing job of making their feed cohesive. These shots look great! You’re doing an amazing job thus far :)

I totally get what you mean, Instagram has been my least prioritized platform for a while because I figured it wouldn’t help my blog views enough to put the effort in. I still don’t think it’ll help much, but now it’s just a fun platform to play around with! And thank you!! :)

“Iphonetographer”, I am totally adopting that. I use my iPhone for everything. And I will definitely be investing in white foam board soon, even though I would probably classify my Instagram style as warm and earthy.

Oh my goodness! Your pictures came out amazing! I agree with the white board for pictures. It’s what I use for my shop (www.instagram.com/theoliveplum) and feel like that is the best way to take pictures for my feed!

These are really pretty photos! I’ve been experimenting with my Instagram style as well and I can’t decide if I want to be bright and colorful, or crisp and white. Oh, the decisions!

Thanks Olivia!! Oh my gosh yes, it’s nearly impossible to decide. I’m starting to think I’ll stick with crisp and white, but I’m scared I’ll run out of things to photograph!

True story: I am both. There’s more than one way to have a style! My Instagram feed is a fairly even mix & blending of the two for an overall coherent look.

I just use VSCO cam to blast all my pictures with a fade then upload them on instagram!

Your blog is great, do you have a tutorial on how you made your hover drop down menu of your page list?

    • says

YES! Haha, I either use the fade or just up the exposure/contrast. And thank you!! I actually don’t yet, but it’s on my list of future posts! I’ll make sure to bump it to the top!
