// 1. I was super excited to come home to this box, and I can officially say I’m in love with thredUP! For those of you that haven’t heard of it, thredUP is an online store that lets you send in your designer/brand-name clothes and sells them at a crazy discount. JCrew tops for $8?? Um yes! I ordered another box immediately after this one arrived, and I’ll be making a more detailed post about this company once it comes in! For now, you can use this link to get $10 off your first purchase! This is a referral link, so I’ll also receive $10, but I’m only sharing this with you because I love this company!
// 2. I spent this weekend back in my hometown, and a big chunk of my time was spent supporting my alma mater’s band at their first competition! It was such a great experience to watch them from the stands instead of marching with them on the field, but it definitely made me miss it more! I’m so proud of them for coming so far already, and I have high hopes for them as they push into competition season!
// 3. Like I mentioned last week, me and a few of my friends are trying to eat healthier this year, and I set aside an hour to cut up all the delicious fruits and veggies I bought and divide them up into little bags to take to class. It’s a small step, but it’s something!
// 4. I love walking around Austin. There are so many quirky things to find, places to stop at, foods to try, and I feel like I’ll never see it all! This is one of the buildings I passed by on my walk to the bus stop. It seems like there are a million different buildings with quotes like this on them in Austin, and I want to photograph as many of them as I can!

Today I’m linking up with Kiki at In Its Time for her monthly link-up, The Circle! This month’s theme is fall favorites, which is perfect because I’ve been wanting to do a post about mine, and I found this link-up as I was planning it!
I want to say that I don’t really have a favorite season, because there are amazing qualities about all of them, but I’m leaning towards fall being my favorite one. There are just so many changes that come with it, and not just in the physical sense either! The orange leaves and cool breeze outside are perfect, but I love getting back into school and starting new adventures just as much. This fall specifically will be one of the best ones yet, because it’s my first semester in college and there is so much going on now and in the months to come that I can’t even think of a day without some sort of plan made! It sounds a little overwhelming, but I’m stoked to pack this season with unforgettable moments and make the most of every minute of it.
Of course, there are the typical fall favorites that you just can’t overlook, so here are my answers to The Circle Link-up questions!
Favorite fall fashion/clothing item: I’m a lover of cardigans, and I can’t wait to be able to start wearing them! I have a really comfy/oversized cream one that I wore all the time last fall, and I’m bringing it out to my dorm next time I stop by my house!
Favorite fall drink: While I love the PSL, I have to say, a skinny vanilla latte is my go-to fall drink! It’s light enough that I can drink one at almost any time of the day without that strong coffee taste, but it’s still full of warm vanilla-y goodness!
Something on your fall bucket list: I’ve been wanting to go camping for the longest time, and I’m determined to go this fall! It’s pretty much impossible to go camping in Central Texas during the summer, unless you plan on being miserable all night, so this coming fall will be a perfect opportunity to go!
Favorite fall recipe: I love pies. All kinds of pies. Apple pies, peach pies, pecan pies, lemon meringue pies, the list never ends. But my all time favorite pie is pumpkin. I make one every Thanksgiving and bring it to wherever dinner is being hosted that night, and if I have leftover ingredients (which somehow I always do…;) ), I make a second one to keep at home for myself. And by myself, I literally mean I eat the whole thing on my own. It’s amazing how many meals taste good with pumpkin pie on the side!
Halloween candy or pumpkin spice latte? Ooh, this is a hard one. It really depends on the candy. If I walk up to a house and they hand me an old Tootsie-roll that’s probably been in their candy bowl since Halloween ’08, then I’m definitely on the PSL side. But if they pour a couple handfuls of Hershey’s chocolate bars and Reese’s cups…that’s a different story.
Favorite fall scent: I love the smell of nature in general, and it’s hard to enjoy that when it’s 100+ degrees outside. When fall comes around, so do the cooler temperatures, and that means I can finally spend time outside without feeling miserable. I love the smell of the grass, and the air after it rains (which also rarely happens in the summer here), and I just have the urge to spend as much time as possible out there!
Favorite fall holiday: Thanksgiving! Gosh I just love Thanksgiving. It’s like a day made for eating and watching TV, and you don’t have to feel guilty for it because everyone else is doing the same thing! Of course there’s also the whole, spending time with family and friends thing, which I also love, because it’s like a five day break to spend with them! But still…the food. I love everything that makes its way onto that dinner table, and there’s always enough to make meals for the rest of the weekend. It’s just the perfect holiday!
What fall weather is like where you live: Oh Texas. Well currently, it’s 5pm and 85 degrees, which actually feels fantastic! It hasn’t gotten above 90 this week, but that’s expected to change in a few days. :( For the rest of the season though, it’s usually in the low to mid 80’s with a breeze that almost makes it feel like a real fall! I’m just hoping we get a few random cold fronts, because I can’t make it through another “80 degrees until January” year.
Be sure to go check out The Circle and link up your fall favorites post!

// 1. I went to the local farmer’s market for the first time in a few years, and I forgot how much I loved that place! It’s awesome to see so many people come together just to be healthy and enjoy their morning! The live music was definitely a bonus.
// 2. I’ve tried to get out as much as possible during my free time, and a stop by the capital building was on my “to visit” list! I’m hoping to take a legitimate tour of it someday, and maybe a Segway tour around it??
// 3. I’ve been wanting to purchase this necklace for a while now, and I finally made it over to Kendra Scott to buy it! I’m kind of in love with everything Kendra makes, because her stuff works with just about every outfit I wear! This necklace is super simple, but still nice enough to wear for more fancy outings! Have you bought anything from her yet?
// 4. As part of my “healthy eating” plan that my friends and I started this month, we took a trip down to Whole Foods for lunch! I got this super delicious bowl full of veggies, chicken, and brown rice. The peanut sauce topped it off perfectly! If Whole Food’s wasn’t so expensive, I would spend hours in there shopping for my weekly meals.
